Your Official Motivation Post for the Week

image by renjith krishnan/FreeDigitalPhotos.netIf last week’s motivation was a bit on the serious side, this week’s is a complete tear-jerker. In fact, I cry every time I watch this clip. The stories it tells are amazing. Check it out:

I see two stories here.

The guy (Derek Redmond) who is fulfilling his dream of running in the 1992 Olympics when a hamstring injury stops him mid-stride. He could have given up right then, but he didn’t. He had to prove to himself and everyone that he could finish the race. So he gets up and keeps going in spite of the pain.

The guy (Derek’s father) who sees how bad the first one is struggling and reaches out to help him keep going.

Can you be one of these guys this week? Can you be both? Let’s give it a shot and see what we accomplish.

  1. That is motivation in spite of great odds. Thank you for the reminder both for each of us personally and in helping each other. We may not be able to cross the finish line alone, but together we can accomplish miracles. :)

  2. Wow, what an incredible determination and strength Derek Redmond showed. And how awesome was that for his father to help him finish that race. I loved this. How can I ever forget the lessons these men taught? Thank you, Katie.

  3. I keep going despite pain every day. Not acute pain, but chronic pain. I don’t let it stop me from living my purpose.
