If last week’s motivation was a bit on the serious side, this week’s is a complete tear-jerker. In fact, I cry every time I watch this clip. The stories it tells are amazing. Check it out:
I see two stories here.
The guy (Derek Redmond) who is fulfilling his dream of running in the 1992 Olympics when a hamstring injury stops him mid-stride. He could have given up right then, but he didn’t. He had to prove to himself and everyone that he could finish the race. So he gets up and keeps going in spite of the pain.
The guy (Derek’s father) who sees how bad the first one is struggling and reaches out to help him keep going.
Can you be one of these guys this week? Can you be both? Let’s give it a shot and see what we accomplish.
