30 plus 6 plus 365 plus 6. That’s what this post is about.
Some of you already have that added up, don’t you? Don’t tell me the answer. I’ll get there eventually.
In the meantime…
30 Days of the Ultimate Blog Challenge. 30 posts on this blog, every day with no breaks since April 1st. Whew!
It helps to have some themes running, whether it’s a “Sunday is Motivational Post Day” kind of thing or a series of posts on the same topic like the Facebook series I did or the Building Blog Community series that I’ll be finishing up tomorrow.
Blogging every day is exhausting! I need a day off from time to time.
There are so many awesome blogs out there that I never knew existed. Reading different blogs, including ones that aren’t in my niche, gave me inspiration for things to do on my own blog.
Would I do it again? Absolutely!
Before the Ultimate Blog Challenge was the Freakin’ Fantastic Blog and List Building Challenge. Six weeks of blog posts, you could set your own schedule but most people took the weekends off.
Editorial calendars are your friend! Planning ahead lets you see what needs to be done. You can write and schedule posts ahead of time, especially if you know you’ll be busy or away from the computer.
You’re more likely to get an audience if you put yourself out there – commenting in other blogs, participating on Twitter, Facebook, etc.
You do what you can with the time you have and don’t sweat it if you don’t get everything done. It’ll still be waiting for you the next day.
Comments from readers make the work worth it.
Would I do it again? In a heartbeat!
One year ago today, my son was born. He’s truly a blessing – happy, opinionated, loving, and constantly on the go. I hope and pray he’ll sleep through the night before he’s 30.
(I’d do it again. You don’t even have to ask.)
And finally, there are 6 days until I make a pretty cool announcement even if I do say so myself . It’ll be fun, I promise. Make sure you’re back here on Tuesday to check it out, or just sign up to my mailing list and I’ll email you about it.
(Oh, by the way? 407. I know it was bugging some of you.)
Did you participate in one of the challenges? If so, what did you learn? If you didn’t, what’s a first for you today? Share your thoughts in the comments.
